Students Receive Honours
“They are a tight knit group. It is rewarding to see friendships form as well as acting and communication skills through a shared art form that they love."
Students from Whangarei’s Drama and Voice Academy -Making a Scene came away from their grade 5 Theatre in Action exam with positive anticipation and were thrilled to find out a week later that they had received honours plus for their efforts.

The four grade five students completed the exam in September in the Northland Round of the Speech NZ Exam Tour.
In November they completed the second module of grade five Speech and Drama, but had to travel to Auckland to sit this exam.
The students have taken part in exams since 2012 although Ben Morton-Jones and Morgan Sears, 15 and 14 respectively, have been drama students with the Academy since they were 8 years old.

The academy Principle Helen Morton-Jones said she was very proud of the students efforts and the high marks received for both group and individual exams are a true reflection of the skill level of the student's ability.
Coco Barachet and Emily Hook joined the Academy in 2011 and have performed with Ben and Morgan in exams and regular public performances at the Whangarei library festivals, Quarry Nights and Academy shows over the years including the very success full Time Pieces shows which were sell outs.
